HISTORY

2004: Inaugural St. Pete Beach Classic — 5K, 10K, & Kids’ races
2007: Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Regional 10K Championship
2010: Event deferred due to illness of a founding member
2011: St. Pete Beach Classic returns
2012: Addition of Half-Marathon and Trio Competition
2013: Addition of Beach Sunset Fun Run and Individual Marathon Challenge
2016: Event weekend continues to grow in sponsorship and runners
2018: Record number of participants in our 15th running of the Classic Weekend

ST. PETE BEACH CLASSIC

January 14 – 15, 2023

Established in 2004, the Classic began as a one day event featuring 5K and 10K races plus Kids’ dashes. Fast forward to 2015, beginning the second decade of the St. Pete Beach Classic, and you will find a weekend filled with races and activities for runners, walkers, and area residents alike. It is now preparing for its 16th running and continues to be a full weekend of running and beach fun!!

The St. Pete Beach Classic welcomes both runners and walkers and offers a race for every level of participant: 5K, 10K, Beach Fun Run, Half Marathon, Duo Competition, Individual Marathon Challenge and Kids’ Dashes. The competitive, scenic race courses guide participants through the streets of beautiful St. Pete Beach, the Sunset Capital of Florida. They are certified, flat, and fast!

Everyone can also enjoy a beach bonfire and live concert on Saturday evening free of charge. All activities, including the start and finish lines for all races, are located at the Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center, 5300 Gulf Boulevard, St. Pete Beach. Proceeds from the event will benefit charities as designated by the Board of SPB Classic LLC, a 501(c)(3) and owner of the event. Registration is open for January 13th 2023.
